The King of Dreams

To swim, be free, and sail
This sea of lies no more.

To pull the tooth of untruth
From the mouth of Narcissus,
And take flight with feather light fears
Falling away and away and away.

Sunlight might seep through the cracks
And make a prince of the King of Dreams.

One day.

Hi there :) New to this site so just finding randomy poems to comment on. I clicked this because I thought it MIGHT be about Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Perhaps it's not, but I'm glad I clicked!

I adore "away and away and away"

the pace stumbles a bit on "feather light fears" I think

i was looking for the word surf--smile--anywho.very nice write. best stanza for me:
"To pull the tooth of untruth
From the mouth of Narcissus,
And take flight with feather light fears
Falling away and away and away."

brings to mind the idea (for me at least) that there is freedom in falling, letting go, even if motivated by fear. very nice piece.
thanks for the read.

I like the lilting rhythm, and loved the repeated 'away and away'. Beautiful poem Costa.
