In the Name of Science

Old pine trees in the tundra stand
Hundred of storms made them bend
Lumberjacks after the timer seek
Beautiful wood as nice as teak.
Protected is the forest now
It seem the tree are safe, but how?
The National Park collaborate
Science the trees investigate
They cut down the oldest pines
In the name of science - there are no fines.

I like the pithy ending! Good to see some environmental subjects being tackled here.
