off a country road
a girl lays grass bound

the bright sun
shine'n down

think'n she's just fine
think'n this heres alright

but the moonlight
brings terrible things

when that sun goes down
the ol red devil sings

oh he be
come'n round

spellbound
is her trouble mind
she knows she aint fine

god aint on her side
when her true love
jack claims his bride

bottoms up
goes that ol time rag
lovin him and his
never ending bag

cant get no relief from
those dark liquid dreams

got their spell on me
brown bagg'n jack
have mercy on me

she'd always say

preacher make these
dreams go away

the devil's whore house
is where jack and I play

I gotta get
some holiness someday

the sun
is shine'n bright

but it's the night
the fiery night

that's got
its hold on me

that's got me
do'in harm

oh preacher man
make these
dreams go away

make jack and the
devil see the light
of day

some holiness someday

I get down
these ramblin knees

cry'n dear lord
in heaven above

take away
this sinners love

make me the women
that I'm suppose to be
send ol jack to another
so I can be free

mama's gotta get some

day breaks a come'n
lord save me

this grassy knoll
save this ol rag time
gals soul

of those pearly gates

just a shot of jack
while I wait..
