Faith and Suffering

It takes faith to live in the Now,
Without plans and goals
Without trying to make everything
Happen in a desired way
Without expectations
Trusting that things will turn out
For the best on their own

That I'll be happy, peaceful, and complete
Whether I have desires fulfilled or not
Whether things go 'my way' or not
Whether I make effort or not
Letting go of belief and control

Though both paths take faith
One also brings with it
Unnecessary disappointments
And mental suffering
This realization leads me back
To the ego-less path

Nice expression of the struggle for non-attachment. From faith, to the path, to freedom from self, to freedom from both faith & doubt.

Thanks, it reminds me, time to meditate.

Well, I guess in the end, we have to keep having faith, and prepare ourselves for whatever suffering because we can never know what will happen... Interesting poem. Keep up the good work!
