Numb

I turned in pain, disgrace.
As the emptiness filled my once full heart.
I awoke from this sweet dream,
And felt the warmth fading from my memory.

I float as you feel, made this way.
By the words you couldn't unsay.
Betrayed by the selfishness that escaped me.

What's hurting you, kills me.
The years of my once caged heart, I betrayed.
To repent I set you free.
And returned myself to this dark empty.

I walk a lonely road.
Endless, weightless, fateless I'll adore you.
I gave my heart to you.
Now I wrap it in cold.

I'd come here by day.
I left there in darkness.
As I lost you on the way.

But it's the only road I've ever known.

Is it just me, or is there a continuing variation, contradicting terms, but yet ones of logic or reason and when it comes to love there is neither? Am I way out there or is that where its coming from?
