Romance Novel Hero
Oh, he's handsome
And he's perfect,
And he thinks that I'm so hot.
He is strong and he is clever,
And so patient,
And those things that
I have managed to convince myself
my husband is not....
(Not always, anyway!)
He's my Imaginary Lover--
Can't exist,
'Cause no real man could stack up
To this dream man in my mind!
But I know somewhere he's out there,
'Cause I've seen him in those stories
I've been reading,
I've been needing
For romance and tender glances,
Flowers and dances, pretty dresses,
Candlelight and flowing tresses,
Making love ten times a night....
(*sigh*!)
(Yeah, right! Who am I kidding?!)
Oh, he's handsome
And he's perfect,
And he thinks that I'm so hot.
He is strong and he is clever,
And so patient,
And those things that
I have managed to convince myself
my husband is not....
He's my Imaginary Lover--
Can't exist,
'Cause no real man could stack up
To this dream man in my mind!
But I know somewhere he's out there,
'Cause I've seen him in those stories
I've been reading'¦
And they can't all be lying!
(Can they?)

Author's Note: I used to be a romance novel addict. But now I've joined a good 12-Step program, and my marriage is in recovery.... ;-)
