Sit and think
Think and write
Think how maybe
I just might

Make it out
Out of this life
This life I'm confined to
Avoiding the knife

The knife and the gun
The drugs and the fun
The liquor is done
Then I will have won

But will I make it past
The lights and the nights
The liquor, the fights
We're all high as kites

The thoughts that kill
The blood that will spill
The hopelessness and still
I continue to feel

Like this is my life
Like it was my plan
To waste away in a bar
Hardly much left of a man

Teach me to love
To love once again
Who am I kidding?
I never will win

Love again? I doubt it
Be happy, how bout it?
Figure it out, not to late
But there's no time to wait

Things are coming together
As slow as it's been
One piece at a time
Just try not to sin

Keep on top of what's right
Don't roll every night
Keep climbing the ladder
Continue to fight

This isn't the end
Hard work to contend
You're behind right now
But not in the end

Just don't give up
Even when you're pissed
The world would lose out
If you ceased to exist
