Images

I kneel here before you,
worshipping in the warmth of your embrace
while zero-eyed people pass by,
too immersed in their own visions of glory
to see passion blooming at their feet-
Love is not all that is blind.

I am too enthralled by your being
to notice grey skies,
or cobblestones that grind beneath me.
No more than you are aware
of the cold curb you sit upon,
or the bleak alley you chose for this moment.

All, is us together-
no world to distract us,
nothing but blue eyes locked to brown,
soft kisses and softer words
that all repeat the same phrase-
"I adore you, I adore you..."

Everything locked in a picture
that freezes an instant in time.
An image on my wall, and in my heart,
of the moment that "we",
became "us".

I wish you could see the picture that goes with this poem. It was written as a prompt challenge around the time I was starting to take this "writing" thing seriously again. Thank you for pointing out MY favorite part! =D

Very good Jennie! Liked the whole thing, but this really got me:

I am too enthralled by your being
to notice grey skies,
or cobblestones that grind beneath me.
No more than you are aware
of the cold curb you sit upon,
or the bleak alley you chose for this moment
