A cheaP State

I wait...

To see you

I acknowledge I long to be beneath your skin,

Twisting and churning

Invading your essence and every fiber.

I meekly fight a war

To stay magnified

Burnt in your flame

With no one to blame but myself.

I wait...

For a stranger to accept my invitation

We exchange songs,

And in the faint light of dawn

I recognize my defeat.

I've lost.

What was once honey dipped

Is now spoiled and bitter.

Again I wait...

For a glimpse of what's under your surface.

I'm listening to you breath in,

And breath out

Needing nothing...but me.

I cry to heaven

For an eye to this storm.

Still I wait...

For what once was,

But is no longer.

thanks. That'sa real compliment considering I'm also a musician.

This piece had a unique tone to it, no matter how I tried, I kept hearing them in my head as a song. It was hauntingly beautiful. A Great piece.
