The stone that was your heart

fell out of your chest while we made love.
It dropped into mine with a muffled song
that an orca might call their own.

Small and round, I carry you within me
feeling the echo more than I hear it.
And, when I wish to hold you, I cannot.

The weight and gravity of love falling in
the depths of me, ripples in silence.
