Dark Thoughts
Accusing eyes in blank faces
Ripping and shredding my soul
Taking me to such wrong places
And I cannot pay the toll
Friends' many words fill the spaces
In heart and mind tumbling, roll
Darkness seeps, spins and races
Not-friends with their hearts of coal
Dying, drowning now in the pain
Losing myself in the dark
Tears and fears pour from me like rain
Life's flame is only a spark
Burning pain and hurt in each vein
As vengeful words reach their mark
Heart's blood pools, my being slain
Mind, soul, heart are lost to dark

| Thanks for the nice thoughts. I don't know that alternating rhyme is de riguer these days, but when I do poetry, that's how it forms in my head so I usually go with it. |

| Billie, I don't know much about the mechanics of poetry, but I know what I like. Your alternating rhyme scheme appealed to me and very much conjured up "Dark Thoughts." --Robert |
