Hunger
Hunger Ayodele Arowosegbe
My heart aches
My head throbs
In ceaseless pain
My stomach churns
My body burns
In ceaseless fury
I feel the tightening
Deep within me
A painful emptiness
With nothing to fill it
Oh, thou hunger!
In immense agony,
Have you incarcerated me
Your vicious tentacles
Have you made a torment to me
Oh hunger!
You make me babble
Because my stomach rumbles
And there is nothing to stop the tremble
Hunger you are
The poor man's nightmare
The sadistic brute
That lures around in empty stomachs
Bid me time
That I may obtain food
And free myself from your grip.

I am just now getting out of my hunger state, only 19, no house, and no where to go, and been doing nothing with my life, as the cause to my hunger.
i am going to do whatever it takes to change my life so i will never have to be hungry again., i feel this piece so much.
Great Work. |

So few of us in the USA really know what hunger is & how the hungry suffer. Thank you for the reminder; may we do more to feed them
