It's Magic -- Wee Stories Challenge #11
'¦Old magic in fact. Into the boiling pot, she hurled dust from this container, some dark liquid from that. Sinew roiled in her arms as the jagged knife dismantled a bird and fed it also in quivering lengths to the rising steam and smell. As expected, they came with pupils wide and vacuous smiles, greedy to gorge on chicken soup.

The chicken soup cure - it must have come from witches, Kenneth. Good one.
Cheers

I see how you might see our minds collided to create our seperate pieces, but I assure you, that yours is far more in the realm of good writing and mine is simply the ramblings of someone awake far too early into the morning.

Did you go to the same grade school as me?
I could swear I ate that soup when I was a kid.

| Really liked what you did with this Ken-- set it up one way but have it turn out another; this line was a goody> 'they came with pupils wide and vacuous smiles' particularly as I had anticipated some form of cannibalism! Great write. Ash |

Ha. I love this story. You think at first it's some old witch and then you get to the end and ... nope. It's my grandmother. Thanks for the laugh and the wonderfully worded story, Kenneth. Definitely one of my favorites so far. You did a lot with 60 words.
