The isolated contemplation
Sometimes, in the intricacy of life, we get lost
Sometimes, in the difficulties of life, we don't cope.
The times when life is an unsolvable maze
And the walks of life feel like an infinite slope.
Then the damage and the debt are beyond measureable cost.
You look around and can't help but feel lost.
The thought of things you need the most,
Is a list one would never boast.
I sit back and lounge on life's lazy-boy
I watch a film of how people's lives from desire destroy
I tried to turn the volume down, the screams were too loud, and pause
But the characters had their lives without a doing word. A clause.
I tried to switch off
But humanity had not switched on their bionic brains
I looked for another angle, the back of their heads, and saw loose mains.
I thought the thoughts with purpose
And humanity replied with a snarl. A curse!
The beauty of life is that you only get one chance
But this beauty once caused me to change my stance
One day we'll look back and wonder, 'Was I thinking?'
When you realise you lived like a dysfunctional robot, not even blinking
But I affirm, with age comes wisdom
Don't let time precede regret
Don't let life be the lover you wish you never met
And with wisdom comes gratitude
And only once that is all concluded can one lift to higher latitude.
