MY LIFE IN REDS

Each time I think of all the places that I loved you then
Do you feel some breath blow gently down your spine?
In case you can't recall exactly where it was or when
There was just a hint of Pinot on your mind

Red wine to toast the night in London when you got the job
Each carafe of Port in Lisbon when we missed the train
Does every sunset blush bring back the old familiar throb
So well known when drinking Merlot in the rain?

On all the nights when I sip Malbec in that same café
Never far from thoughts of when you sat here too
No waiter dare suggest a Chenin Blanc or Chardonnay
Everybody knows I'm bleeding over you

There's no more color in my life without your redhead tang and flare
So I just savor what reminds me of the glories of your hair

Theres just so much......RED! :) Nice work. Like the different reminders, like how everything is woven around the red hair.

Thanks for the read.

Read your post. Not all redheads are dangerous. Some come from a bottle. Another beautiful poem with a deep feeling of sadness. Janet

OH MY GOD!

This is so beautiful Lin, truly and without sycophantic adjective...

I have been the person remembering those connections and you embrace my experience...

Beautiful.

Delightfully done, however unhappy the topic. I do resemble your public awareness remark, however - please know that the redhead loves deep and is capable o' bleedin' blood that is also the color o' strawberry wine!
