For Chris

My endless suffering brings me to a new place
A place where I have no fear, because I have nothing to lose
I've lost everything that there was ever going to be to lose

My friend slipped through my fingers
Flatlined in front of my unseeing eyes
Blinded by the visions before me

Lights and rain, life and pain
Black agony, sleepless nothing
Awaken but not really, Alive, but not wanting to be

Being nothing in my newfound waking world
Full of nothing but guilt and pain
Graves that should be empty, A friend I should have left with

Eyes tearing me apart, words ripping my heart in two
Tears running down my face like rain
But no amount of tears I ever sacrifice
Could ever return what I took from them
What I lost, my friend
