Immaculate Mahogany Framed Windows

As the sun rode low in the sky of the early evening'¦
I was greeted at the gates of heaven
in a fateful meeting.
Beyond what language would allow'¦
above the willows as they weep,
beside Thought's stream I follow
wonderful dreams and
sorrowful laments floating free.
Sweet as the nectar of a honey tree'¦
bittersweet mix of satisfaction and bees'¦
beautiful flowers bearing
more thorns than leaves.
All through those mahogany windows'¦
I saw all she chose to show'¦
witnessed her defenses and the love below'¦
deep in her soul, unbridled and unmolested'¦
past the crags and lands of lack'¦
beyond the canyons of doubt
lay the secrets to a happy life'¦
the keys to joy.
I saw it on a warm summer day'¦
all the seasons passed away,
and what was left lay
the prey of a cold world'¦
it was the diamond in the ruff'¦
an uncultivated pearl
an unpolished jewel'¦
the essence of nirvana.
sought after to be collected'¦
maybe sold, eventually neglected'¦
an open exhibition left unprotected'¦
a mere prize.
Troubled by games and lies,
by those bearing less character despised'¦
all through those beautiful mahogany eyes.

First off kudos on the title. I love it.

"Sweet as the nectar of a honey tree'?
bittersweet mix of satisfaction and bees'?
beautiful flowers bearing
more thorns than leaves."

This line rolls off the tongue quite well. Strong piece here. I like that you brought the Mahogany in one last time before the close. It gave a sort of finality.
