Trail of Tears

A thousand years
A genocide of fears
A trail of tears

A relocation of cultures
Soldiers waiting like vultures
To prey upon, to sepulture

An ancient civilization
Destroyed in one summation
Increase the frustration

A nation, ancient as time
Washed away like grime
Victims of prejudiced crimes

A thousand years
A genocide of fears
A trail of tears...

I picked this one to read because of my Cherokee heritage... It makes me think of how quick that culture disappeared due to the prejudices and fears you mention. I like the repetition of the first stanza as the last. The only thing I'd suggest, if I had to, is to show more of the pain and suffering, but I think this is more about a later generation's frustration with not knowing much about their past? Am I right?
