He Took My Hand

He took my hand
When I couldn't stand,
and face the danger alone.
He took my hand and led my on,
Mine in His; pure and strong
And because of that my faith has grown.
I was lost in a world of fear,
And I didn't know He was near!
Life is hopeless without You, Good Friend.
I know He'll be with me to the end,
And after.
My life has a meaning now.
When I met Jesus, 'POW!'
My God is good; He will always love me.
Because of Him, my soul has been set free!
My God has never changed,
My life has been rearranged,
For the better.
My God will never leave me, even after death.
He'll be at my side as I draw my final breath.
I will not be afraid when God closes the last door,
Then I'll live in heaven with Jesus forevermore.

I agree, dlynn. As you can see, I wrote this poem a whyle back and I have never really liked how that line ended. I remember wracking my brain for a better word...
Anyway, thank you for the suggestion! I really appreciate it!

I like Christian based writings. They can give great truth and light.
I think, though, the line "My life has meaning now, When I met Jesus Pow"
feels more like he hit you. Like he should have been a V8.
Maybe try something like Wow, you were wowed by him.
Just my thought.

I'm not completely into the whole religious motif, so I struggled a little bit with this piece, in the fact that, it simply isnt my thing. Yet still, I was captivated at how you can evoke such emotions and images. You are truly gifted at wording your poems. Another fantastic read overall.

(if you haven't notice, I have a tendancy to ramble. Don't mind me. lol)

Fantastic job.

I liked this poem, I could feel your happiness throughout. Jesus is my greatest source of inspiration in my writing also!
