Growing Up
Why do I feel this sense of loss?
Curling around my heart
Like a cat
Making itself comfortable
On the duvet.
I flinch at the sharp pain
Of its claws
As it kneads
The soft cotton cover
To make a home.
Turning, circling
Placing its scent
On every
Single
Fibre.
Finally, it settles
Content, nose buried
Under its tail
To sleep
And dream.
So must I
Grow
And be at peace
With
Losing
You.

| I am so glad you liked it. The inspiration, I must say, came from my ginger Roo, who can't help but hurt me when he loves but in the nature of the beast, always leaves! |

| This is a great piece. The construction adds to the emotion. Wonderful. |

"There and Back Again"
A powerful, poetic journey back from the brink - literally! The poetry in this book is a direct result of the creative processes started by entering therapy for depression. The poetry speaks for itself and allows others to relate to the content in their own ways.
