City Stench

Pungent yet subtle fragrance
Of stone and mold and human stench
A steaming brew
Stale and churning
On my shoes
An urban concoction
Of piss and sticky Pepsi dew
Old soda, candy too
Embraced by everyone's sweat
Soaking in my skin
Smoke and decay blacken my blood
Like wet cement on Monday morning
