"Laid Alone"

'Laid Alone'
So many times
I've fallen
Waiting for you hand
To assist me
In rising to my feet.
So many times
I waited
And waited.
It took far to long
For myself to realize
I've nearly laid alone
For an eternity.

Oh...
For some reason I thought of the image of a small child who has fallen and waited for their parent to help them up and dust them off. I might be completely off base though.
