I once loved you.

There once was a time
When I couldn’t breathe when you walked in the room
Now all you bring me is pain
One word after another
Tensions have gotten higher
Love has turned to hate
Dirty looks
Horrible names
A lot has changed
I once loved you
This I can barely take

Nothing could ever go back
Too much at stake
Wondering why
Wondering how
Something so special at one time
Is now nothing at all
A glare from you to me
A stab in the back
Too much has changed
I may have loved you once
But this is nothing but hate

i could relate to what you were saying. You put the feelings on paper wonderfully. I lived reading your work.

I like the way you transfer from "When I couldn’t breathe when you walked in the room" to "But this is nothing but hate"

So true how quickly things can go from bliss to shit so quickly...

well done

I really liked this piece. Each word flows with emotions and I could feel the hurt as I read this. "I may have loved you once, but this is nothing but hate" was my favorite part and it was a great end as well.

Daniel,

this is what poetry is to me,...don't use difficult words when it is not needed,...
You did it perfectly,...yet let us feel what is inside you.
Keep this up,...loved it,..every word,..so recognizable to all of us
