SUSAN

SUSAN
You still make my heart skip a beat
skipiddy-skip-skip-skip
You still make me feel light on my feet
Trippidy-trip-trip-trip
You still make me feel like I could fly to the moon
You still make me sing that old Blue Eyes tune.
I always thought I’d be immune
to your charms
your arms
your soothing balms
Don’t be surly
Yours truly.

I still make you as mad as hell
as you practice your profanities
I still make you ring like a bell
When you laugh at my inanities
I still drive you around the bend
when I‘m in the passenger seat
I still make you feel special
when I kiss the soles of your feet
When we meet
On the street
so oblique
Don’t ignore me
Yours truly.

Unfinished
and undone.
The subject of this love song
Tore out my heart.
