no longer
we are
no longer together
i left you
someplace in yesterday
i thought it was over
removed like a vessel with a crack
empty
boundless
no longer worth your weight
so why does my mind miss you
along with that place you'd kiss
in the small of my back
we are
no longer an item
i've got a paper that says it is what it is
you - go over there
me- go over here
so why do my thoughts turn so desperate
for your eyes to be lain upon me
see me - indecent exposure
wipe the you off the me with your shirt
tossed on the floor
loving again
you - over there
me - over here
i wipe myself with the paper that says so
we are
not anymore today
than we were then
only then i had you right next to me
broken, ugly, silent or loud
i smelled you with every resentful breath i could take
but i can't smell you anymore
because you -
are over there
and I
am over here
i've got that wrinkled
tear-stained paper that says so
sometimes the judge who judges
is perverse
especially since he
had never been here or there
in the first place
