penny pool

more often than I attend to count
the world in uncryptic whispers seeks me out
and runs a moment
like a grey old silent film

and in the wish whirr and flickering light
I catch my breath and bright
seconds of a life
that I have to know

I'm sure I should know what a penny pool is - a place for wishes? The whispers might be memories, but why uncrypted, unsecret? It seems to be about uninvited reflection. Maybe uncrypted because the narrator feels the judgement of others? I like puzzle poems - feathers and fans make a better strip-tease (I admit I've only seen one and she looked like a budgerigar!); I think the purpose of a poem is to make it happen in the reader and I don't like to be told how to feel.

I think maybe "attend" should be "intend" ?

I like the AABC rhyme.

Very interesting.

I like how short this one is, most of the stuff i write is short to and you put a lot into this little space. There is also some good rhythm. its pretty.
