The Art of Life

My brain is but a prism
Bending memories
Into perceptive hues
That paint my world
Like the artist
That lays landscape
Over background
And subject
Over foreground
So does my mind
Layer the moments in time
Each new stroke
Revealing the hidden beauty
Of the one before
And one day
I will stand back and admire
A life imperfect
Yet complete

Simply, complex and utterly sweet.
