Watch Me

watch me
watch me turn around the cipher
and burn with the light of 10,000
piping hot churning sun spots or
with the might of a calvary of
righteous firemen concerned not with
their own spot in history but always
returning to the fresh lit lot of our hearts'
and minds' unopened burning shops.
watch me turn and burn with at least
the might that my height will earn me.
watch me ride and sail along the concrete's
photographic side inhaling the west wind's
rain song beside me it goes on and on,
the leaves just dance and stand strong
because they know theyre all banned before
long. so watch me conquer and explode
with power on the lawn and road and watch
me serenade to no end the acorns'
and the glass blades' friends until the shade
of night descends and grins at the day's
quiet surrender.
watch the mighty pretender mom and watch
youth's spiteful ember burn out and turn out
to be a slight remembrance...

You doubt the mothers joy and participation? They seem rehearsed?

It's so vivid, you write descriptively and with no qualms about your choice of words. You seem like a very gutsy writer! Loved it.

One of my sons is a skateboarder, & this reminded me of him, of the nights he would come home at 3 a.m. bloodied up and happy because he'd ridden every rail in town. As always, your imagery soars.
