It was valentines night
And love filled the air
Except for poor Jimmy
He was filled with despair
His sweetheart had left him
For somebody new
And Jimmy was lonely
And feeling quite blue
He walked to the window
And through the curtain did spy
A shimmering light
Shining down from the sky
He followed it's path
Till it fell to the ground
And was filled with amazement
At what he had found
For there in his garden
Was a wonderous sight
Of a lovely young maiden
Locked out for the night
He beckoned her closer
And was filled with delight
When she rapped on the window
And came in for the night
They lay by the fire
Not wanting to sleep
For each of them wanted
This memory to keep
They knew in the morning
It would all turn out right
For they had had
This one glorious night.

I really liked the dreamy poem!!
The rhyming is consistent and doesn't seem forced!
I like the way the start of the poem got us feeling sadness for the character and then feeling delight when he found his woman! (if only in his dream).
