reception/signing
The reception/signing for Pilgrim's Bay went well.
Thanks to the many people that came out to show their support.
Mike, for driving up from Southfield. Brandon, for flying up from Bama. Moltane, for being my accountant. Thanks to Mom and Dad, Kevin and Keith, Mel and Angela. And thanks to all of you who were there!
Special thanks to the lovely Amanda. She busted her tail making arrangements, contacts, and doing her best to make sure things went off without a hitch. And she also made sure my wine glass was always full! Can't beat that! She is a great marketing/PR person and I hope to employ her talents/knowledge in the future.
Approximately 75 people signed the guest book. I suspect the total number of people that attended the event was 100. Not bad for three hours on a Saturday afternoon in the small town of Alpena, Michigan.
Have received several positive responses about the book. Phone calls and emails telling me that the book is very good and that it really hits home. And that is great…just great. Makes me feel a little better about everything.
My plan is to schedule another reception/signing in the near future. Maybe even take Pilgrim's Bay on the road. For now, the book (hardcover and paperback) is only available through Lulu.com and by contacting me directly. Soon, it will be available via Amazon and Barnes and Noble. If you are (or if you know) a journalist, reviewer, publisher, editor, teacher, agent, etc...and would like to take a crack at the book, please let me know. Any help getting the book out there is appreciated.
Give it read and let me know what you think. I think we're onto something here.
Best,
~ k.j.
