I shall hang out here
I shall sit tight and wait
Wait for the right time to come
Wait for the chickens to come home to roost
Wait for the legendary sun to go down
Wait for the last market woman to go past.
Then grabbing my surviving possessions
And turning up my nose
Will I march forward like a Roman soldier
And alone, all alone
Demand reparation
For the years of strife, wrangling and buffoonery.

I enjoyed this one - particularly your putting so many adages to good use. Like Kenneth, I'd love to know what the years of wrangling were all about, though...
You made me smile with, "And turning up my nose/Will I march forward like a Roman soldier" - great image.
Obviously this poem leaves questions in the reader's mind. Surely that is the intention, but I can't help but want more plot. I like the refrain of waiting and the differences in each announcement there. I also like the variety and color of your vocabulary. You implement well -- it does not feel forced.
