“Angel! Angel! Wake Up!” my best friend/ sister Deidre said.

“Huh?!” I sprang up from my bed and clutched the side of my left leg. It was bleeding right where the man from my dream hit me.

“I had another nightmare Deidre.” I stated.

“I know. You were screaming. It’s a good thing your body tells you when to tell someone to wake you up.” She said as she headed into our private bathroom to wet a rag for me.

“What was it about now?’ my triplet/best friend Aaralyn asked me.

“We were driving an-” I started before getting cut off by Deidre coming back with the rag.

“Well then it’s definitely a dream seeing as we’re not even close to legal driving age.” She said as she applied the rag.

“OW! Nurse-in-training please be careful. I think there’s still glass in the wound.” I say as I start picking out beer bottle glass and putting them in a bag.

“Moving on,” Aaralyn said trying to get me to tell my nightmare, “What happened after we were driving?”

“We had to stop because a drunken man was in the way of the car so I got out and asked him where he lived so we could drive him there. Instead of just telling me he accused me of wanting to kill him so he hit me in the leg with the beer bottle and ran into a random house. I remember a scream and then evil laughter and then Deidre shaking me.” I said as I started to shake, “Before I woke up everything went black and a surprisingly sexy voice said ‘I will make you mine’”

“Ah. I see.” Aaralyn said to me, “How old did the voice sound?”

“Why trying to score a date?” Deidre asked wrapping up my leg.

“No. I’m trying to see who it could be. Did it sound like anyone we know?” she asked.

“He sounded like he was 15 and no I didn’t recognize the voice.” I say trying to remember if it was someone maybe from school, the street, the market, anywhere so I can calm my nerves.

“Angel, I want you to think hard who else was in your dream?” Aaralyn said looking serious.

I understand why because last year I had nightmares about getting beat up in school and I only told Aaralyn about it and made her promise not to tell anybody and she did and I ended up going to the hospital. Ever since she got overprotective over everything and on top of that I’m also younger than her and Deidre by like 3 minutes.

“I saw a boy, a cute one too, and he was watching me so intensely that I feel like he’s still watching me but he said nothing just got my attention than ran towards the direction of the drug store about a mile away.” I said as I went to stand.

The good news is that my short didn’t get any blood on them. The bad new is it’ll be hard covering up the scar.

“You do know that Jr would want to hear about this right?” Deidre asked.

Only three other people besides me know about my “abilities” that’s Aaralyn, Deidre and our best friend Jr. His real name is Aaron but because he hates it and he wants to be mysterious he changed it to Jr. Only me Deidre and Aaralyn know his real name well, besides his parents that is.

“Not now, it’s like 2:00 in the morning. Bet you he’s asleep.” I say.

As if on cue my cell phone rang. I answered it.

“Hello?” I asked the person on the other side.

“I sneezed so I thought you were talking about me.” came a male voice about 15.

I froze not recognizing the voice. Aaralyn must’ve realized my sudden fright because she grabbed the phone.

“Who are you?!” she yelled into the phone loud enough not to wake up our parents.

“It’s me Aaralyn! Jr” Jr. said from the phone.

“Oh. Sorry, we’re a bit freaked out.” Aaralyn said with a sigh.

“Did you say we? You mean you right? I’m fine and Angel is only paranoid for one night.” Deidre said snagging the phone.

“HI JR!” she said into the phone.

“HI DEIDRE!” he said back laughing.

“Why’d you call?” I asked taking the phone back and putting it on speaker, “See guys? It’s much easier on all of us including my phone if it’s on speaker.”

“I called because I had a feeling you had a nightmare and because you were talking about me…. I KNOW! I SNEEZED!” he said getting all defensive.

You can tell he was just trying to enlighten the mood but you can also tell he was scared. It was something we shared me and him. We could always tell if one of us was in danger, upset or anything. I know weird.

“We’ll talk in a couple of hours, school tomorrow.” I said sighing.

“Fine but you can’t leave out any details. Okay?” he asks obviously taken back by my statement.

“Deal meet you at the bus stop.” I said as I un-speaker the phone.

“Night Angel.” He said as he hung up the phone.

“Whoa wait just a flipping minute. You’re going to school tomorrow. The uniform pants aren’t patched up yet and it’s snowing outside!” Deidre said using her hands to make a point.

“I have a big English test tomorrow and I’ve been studying for it all this week and last week.” I said as I changed my sheets to my bed.

“Good night and good luck freezing in the snow tomorrow.” Aaralyn said as she climbed into bed like me.

Deidre and Aaralyn take the limo (yes, we own a limo and still go to public school, MY idea) to school while I act normal and join Jr on the bus. My pants got ripped by me helping my dad fix something. A type of saw cut me and my pants, don’t ask me why I was wearing them around oil because I can’t answer that.

“UGH!” Deidre yelled giving up, “Night.”

This is certainly an intriguing start to a story. I'm fascinated by the psychic links, and the matter-of-fact way that the girls treat a wound that was inflicted in a dream.

I know that this is a first draught, so I won't make a list of the typos, but I'll just mention that to 'enlighten' means to educate, and I think that Aaron meant 'lighten'. On the other hand, it could well be that a fifteen year old boy wouldn't know that and would use 'enlighten'. I'm hoping to read more of these characters to learn how dreams can damage the dreamer.
