Deep Abyss

He walks alone, hands in his pockets
with his gaze fixed in no particular place on the ground

it seems He's lost in deep thoughts
with short steps walking slow leaving only footprints behind

what troubles he must have on his mind
no expressions whatsoever on his long face as he walks on

in no particular direction he wonders on and on
he's definitely lost deep down trying to cross the road,
he looks left and right, looking left again to be sure

suddenly time stops, Heart's beating fast now
from onlookers and passers by as blood is spilled on asphalt and metal
from an incident that tore flesh and bone

can he still be alive? he's gasping to breathe
he's still alive
as he stands and walks away from this scene he's just witnessed

Beautiful poem, dammonjay. There is actually a little story in the poem, like the unfolding of a scene, but then the end is not just a fact but something metaphoric. Nice to meet you. :)
