Continuum
Stretched life, growing long
faces of the past no longer belong to us.
A silent handshake then we disappear around the corner
to head for another handshake, another adventure, another another
other than still togetherness. Time knows nothing
of standing still and is unconcerned with will
because humans only know a day. Time has no reason
to be kind, no reason to be polite or make excuses, no.
Time is only considerate of the ones who go around him
like an opaque fog, but I am in love
with the ones who go through it, blinded for some time
but emerging to find the woods swaying in the key of their names.
and some are bound for the trees, some are bound for the river,
some for the mountains, and some for the fields
but we will all be in the same speckled forests
playing hide and seek with ourselves.
