Grandma made
the best of tea
God rest her soul
last year
~
She was always
mighty handy
when Grandpa wanted
homemade beer
~
Still I think back
to that summer
Grandma whipped up
Anise Tea
~
She picked the
roots herself
and somehow failed
to rid out foreign weeds....
~
And there were
~
purple cows in the pasture
and the clouds were flying by
~
Grandpa seemed much younger
and Grandma knew how to fly
~
Cats were barking and dogs meowed
and the trees grew awkwardly
~
Grandmas anise tea that summer.....
~
scared the sh*t outta me
~

Still I think back
to that summer
Grandma whipped up
a pot of stew
~
She picked the
roots herself
and somehow failed
to get the right mushrooms
~
And there were
~
purple cows in the pasture
Ten foot high horse flies
~
Grandpa still jumped the hurdles
and Grandma still knew how to fly?
~
Pigs were chirping and chicks all oinked
and the neighbors all had fleas
~
Grandmas deer-shroom stew that summer.....
~
scared the sh*t outta me
~


'Cause there were
~
purple cows in the pasture
How I wish she hadn't died
~
Things just seemed much better
when we were all f*cked up and high
~


~
Laughter came when all got strange
we giggled til we had ta pee
~
Grandmas recipes that summer
~
still,
~
scare the sh*t outta me......
