On The Edge

Give me your hand – quickly
Reach up,
I can save you
If you just trust me.

Nothing but air
Beneath your feet
A dizzying drop
Into nothingness
A dark abyss
Yearning
To swallow you whole!

Give me your hand –stretch
Your fingers,
I will not let go
If you just trust me.

Don’t look down
Into the doom
Spiralling away
Into the depths
Of hell
Waiting with gaping maw.

Give me your hand – please
Join me here in safety
I see your lips
Forming one word –
Sorry..

Why would you not take my hand?
I could have saved you
Had you just trusted me!

Well expressed emotion. Punctuation would be helpful. You started with it, but didn't carry through. I can relate to both sides of this scene. Fortunately, I took that hand and it was trust-worthy. I'll be eternally thankful for that. Janet

I think I have been both of these people before - painful in both positions. I liked this - intrestingly told.

"There and Back Again"

by brigitte liebenberg

A powerful, poetic journey back from the brink - literally! The poetry in this book is a direct result of the creative processes started by entering therapy for depression. The poetry speaks for itself and allows others to relate to the content in their own ways.
