like the barren fields with none but grass
the longest races when no one is there for last
the color of blue filling empty skies
those little ponds that are frozen with ice
the saddest of these is seen by few. . .
a lonely view.

the clock is slowly ticking away
this day i live from day to day
its hands will turn, even through rain
my lonely view is here to remain
why can't my life just go by smooth?
why does i thurt to hear the truth?
i have waited for a day to call splendid
when it comes, the clock will surely have it ended.

the sand of my life continues to seep
from the top of my hourglass to the deep
there is no way for it to slow
it takes me with a steady flow
the grain with you does not fall through
to me and this lonely view
why must life be this way?
why can't we be together today?
you really must be far from aware
listen close, this writer does care.

i am trying to show inside my heart
but in due time all souls depart
though the clock will wind me down
and the sands will form that undeniable frown
i strive to get through to you
so that i won't see this lonely view
why is it so hard for you to see
that all i want is you and me?
why did i fail the one time i tried. . .
tried to be by you side?
i live for the day to see life with you
so there won't be a lonely view.
