What’s the difference between you and me?
What’s the thing that sets us apart?
Because it seems that we can’t be together.
Everything gets in the way.

We’re so busy yelling our thoughts,
That we can’t have a conversation.
Why can’t we get back to
When it was just me and you?

You remember.
You have to.
When it was just me and you.

When life was so simple.
And love was so true.
When all we had was love.
When it was just me and you.

When it was us against the world,
Instead of me against you.
When life made sense.
When it was just me and you.

Why can’t we go back and start again?
Back to when you were my best friend?
When we decided that we’d love each other
Until the very end?

But can we go back?
Can we follow that path?
I loved you with all of my heart.
And you gave me nothing back.

We can’t be together
If we don’t have trust.
I gave you love,
But you wanted lust.

How can we have love
If you won’t let love win?
We can’t have just me and you
When you bring someone else in.
