Michigan
Your pea coat was black;
The buttons oversized.
My limbs ache to see the sidewalk.
I think I'll fall and sit awhile.
Your pea coat was black;
The buttons oversized.
The spinning stops on your mouth;
The only part I understand.
Your pea coat was black;
The buttons oversized.
I said 'yeah, yeah' to the lines of your song,
You said 'hey hey' and I danced.
Your pea coat was black;
The buttons oversized.
I see the lines on your face grow darker;
I'm a fool; they're smile lines.
The pea coat was black
Your buttons oversized.
You bought it last Wednesday.
It's winter today.
