let it go

denying the death
of something we dreamed
once together
but illusions are
for hopes
and i've lost mine
i lost mine
you have mine

Just like it is, captured beautifully. As if thought about one last time before letting the situation go. Letting it die and not trying to remember it as you would like to.

a tender little poem - like the reader's caught a thought from you we weren't meant to read. Nicely done.

I think this is an effective piece. The repetition of 'i lost mine' helps emphasise the speakers loss and builds the atmosphere of sadness in the poem.
