Snow kissed his toes
Through tattered sandals
As he trudged against the wind
Alone and weary he walked
Looking for a stand
Just a place to rest
A small cop to ward the wind
Fallen tree or hollow log
Numb legs and blue toes
As memories flow
Alone and weary he walked
Occasionally behind he looked
Hands on his shoulder
No one behind
Only his footsteps
As the sun began to set
Golden and orange
Tears began to fall
As memories flow
A kitchen once his
Filled with children
And pumpkin pie
Alone and weary he walked
Looking for a stand
Just a place to rest
And snow kissed his toes
Through tattered sandals
