Border Field State Park

Come fly with me
in puddingy clouds
in a sky that's not mine
in a world that's not ours.
Come away with me
to a place that's not free
and yet where everyone always
seems to want to be.
Come stand with me
right up against the fence
standing where Friendship Park
used to exist.
Look over with me
at the lonely faces
with no desire to cross
but submitting to necessity.
Look the other way
when papers aren't found
and come fly with me
though there's no where or how.
