There is a snake plant
Curled and dusted

Soil hard as rock
Brown and rusted

In a synthetic pot
Upon a laminated floor

It smells of ammonia
Nothing more

By the numbers
Performance care

All the plants
Of equal fare

And the snake plant
I hear it loud

Crying out
From amongst the crowd

All are lacking
Vegetating and hacking

Seeds planted
In sterile soil

Dysfunctional seeds
Run in coils

And these plants have grown
Crooked

Brown and rusted curled and dusted
