Good Night

Mommy lay me down to sleep
And pray to your lord
My Goddess, my soul to keep.
It’s past my time for now
I know you don’t think so
But look at me
My eyes are already closed
And my body is tired
Let me go now
You've had eighteen years
While I've been fighting
To keep awake
To never stop
Always pushing forward
Crawling on toward your praise
But that’s never enough is it
Please I beg of you
I'm past my time
The bed calls me by name
And I've ignored it so long
So tuck me in
Kiss me good night
But take away the flowers
I've never liked them

This poem, to be honest, it makes me think of me and the state that I am thrust into right now. It is beautiful and preaches to that part of me, that only you know.
