THE 9TH DAY: A Legacy of Rage Introduction

Tessa weakly smiled thru split and broken lips. "I know th. This…r…room," she spoke breathlessly, the words staggered with so much pain. Corey choked hard as she gasped horribly and her chest gurgled inside.
"Help's coming sweetheart. Just hang on. Please baby. Hang on. Ok?" He cried to her painfully.
"It is. It's over. F…. for me." Her hand so weak it hung in his hand limply. She struggled to hang onto his.
"I.... I... knew...You would....Come.." She forced the words out painfully, shaking as she gasped agan in unrelenting pain. He tried to smile and reassure her. "I'm here. I'm not leaving. I'll always come for you," he said softly as she gave a weak smile.
"St…Stay...With…me," she whispered painfully as he bent down and kissed her forehead softly, she had waited for him. "I love you Tessa. You'll be ok baby," he said so softly as he gently pushed her blood ridden hair back from her face. "C. Corey?" She struggled hard as terror lit in her eyes, her chest heaved radically as she struggled to take her last few breaths, choking on her own blood, slowly drowning.
Tears rolled from the corner of her eyes, as blood spit up out of her mouth in a painful gag. Her face tensed as she began to shake, growing pale and gray as she tried to lift her head.
“Corey?” She gagged violently and more blood spewed forth and ran down her chin, fear erupting from her dying body. "M...mmatt,” The whisper bone chilling.
Her body jerked a couple times as she gasped for a breath. “Not…,” she cried pitifully, fear in her eyes as she struggled to speak. “..Yet.” She squeezed his hand hard, gazing up at him so desperate, so afraid to die. Corey held her hand frantically.

"TESSA! TESSA DON'T!…" He cried out frantically as she writhed slowly fighting the incoming darkness. “JESUS! SOMEBODY HELP ME!” He cried out painfully to anyone. Tessa gentally fell back, gasping out softly, staring blankly at him, her lips quivered.
"TESSA? YOU FIGHT! DAMMIT, TESSA FIGHT! DON'T YOU DIE!" He cried out. "M…mmy baby.." She whispered breathlessly. Corey's eyes searched her face frantically trying to understand her last words.
"What?...What?" He reached down and carefully pulling her to his shoulder, holding her limp body. "Don't die baby," he cried frantically as her head fell back. She gasped for breath as her pain ridden face slowly relaxed and her body tensed, startling him and a tear rolled from the corner of her eye. She hung lifeless in his arms; he pulled her head to his shoulder and cried. "Tessa. No. Stay with me." He slowly sat back and cradled her.
"Oh baby. Don't go." He sighed sadly, rocking her slowly

It all came so fast, but in Corey's eyes slow motion, the room filled with people. His head swam as he laid her down softly, his body soaked with blood, voices around him distant and frantic. He ran his hand down her hair; she laid as if in a deep sleep, hands quickly taking her from him and carrying her to a black bag, laying her inside softly. Laying her hands inside and zipping it slowly over her face, people asking him questions he could not hear, covering his face with bloody hands. Then, they took her away and he sat silent in the room, people wandering in and out of the room, bloody blankets were all that remained of her. On the floor by the bed lying face up, Carver's mask, he stared at it emptily.
Outside the room, two men dressed as paramedics walked quickly to the body bag, unzipping it, one placed his hand inside, and then nodded at the other and quickly took her away down to a service elevator at the end of the hall. They pushed the button and the doors opened as another two men in scrubs grabbed onto the gurney and pulled it inside. Quickly unzipping the bag, Tessa‘s arm fell limply out as they pulled her out. The elevator door closed as a oxygen mask was placed over her mouth, and the mask suddenly fogged

Chapter Two:

The water flowed quietly past the shore; the early morning light, slowly rising in the east threw the dense cottonwoods and pines. A young woman stumbled threw the weeds and brush to the shore. Her hands bound with duck tape tightly behind her back. Dropping to her knees, her cries muffled by the duck tape over her lips, her body bent over in grief and terror. As three men slowly approached, one with a 9mm handgun in his hand, he stopped and stared down at her quietly. He slowly pulled it up and aimed it her, pulling the hammer back. She jumped hard as it clicked, her eyes full of terror and started crying hysterically.

"Look at me Jesse, LOOK AT ME!" Jess slowly turned her shaking head and stared horrified at him, her body trembling violently. "You did this...you did this to me...I loved you so much," he said slowly, coldly. Jesse closed her eyes tightly, tears streaming hard down her face as she looked away from the gun to the sand below her. Tears rolled to the ground as she sobbed threw the duck tape. He walked up slowly behind her, standing directly behind her as she tried to crawl away, he followed her with determination, keeping aim. She shook her head no repeatedly as she begged him threw her sealed lips . "You don't get to live without me," he said low threw gritted teeth. "YOU DON'T GET TO LIVE!" He screamed at her angrily, the gun shaking in his hand as he pulled the trigger.

Jesse hit the ground with the force of the bullets that riddled threw her. She gasped and tears ran down her cheeks as the bullets ripped threw her. Jesse shook violently as she still tried to crawl away but the bullets forced her unwillingly body to the cold wet sand. Her breathing in sudden slow short gasps as blood slowly came up threw her nose and threw the cracks in the duck tape.

When the clip emptied of all but one bullet, he lowered the gun slowly to his side and stood silently, staring down at her watching her suffer. Jesse finally gave in and slowly curled up on her side, shaking as her body slowly died. She stared at the dark figures that stood above her, her vision tunneled and they seemed to fade away.
She rolled her head slowly and whimpered softly as she tried so hard to fight the darkness that was quickly devouring her mind. Jesse gasped hard threw the duct tape, causing bubbles of blood to be forced out. Her face slowly relaxed in the wet sand as blood rolled from her nose to a puddle beneath her face, each painful gasp for air sucking the duct tape in and out, bubbles of blood forming as air blew threw the seams and ran down the tape. Her body still softly trembling and her pale blue eyes teared and glazed.

"I love you Jesse," he said softly as he walked up and pointed the gun to her head and he pulled the trigger. Blood pooled and slowly ran down to the water's edge.
