Of Lost Love
Of Lost Love
P. Griffin 1999
Long days and endless nights
The heart is sick with loss
All is grieving - no delights
Your image drifts across
These thoughts of you, kind loving scenes
Recurring dreams to see
Oh, how I'd give but all I have
To see you come to me
So suddenly you went away
I wish back for a better day
To keep you here, forever stay
Beside me ever on life's way
You're called on High I know not why
But there's a better place
Someone greater than myself
Has called to see your face
When I strive to understand
I hope you will forgive
Don't know when the pain may leave
But in my heart you'll live
To God above I look for love
To keep me when I cry
And by the tender wings of a dove
I'll meet you by and by
