Just Me

Stereotypes
Labels
nothing but fables
telling stories
of the life
I’m suppose to lead
What about me?
What I say
What I do
Is it part of the plan
being who you say I am?

Society views me
As just another loser
My pockets aren’t lined with cash
Nothing flashy
Just me
wishing I could be
just me
without being told
what to do
or where to go
your too young
your too old
how would you know?

You don’t know me
but you think you do
Don’t judge me by a
brand of shoes
or my hair
or the clothes that I wear
Because
Sorry
I just don’t care
what you think
Then I blink
open up my eyes
and see
I’m hanging by your strings
doing things
that I despise

Freedom rings
but my oppression sings
When is it time
to spread my wings?
Live my dreams?
Open up my mind
and fly
touch the sky
leaving you behind
till I learn
how I
can be just me

A narrative of self in these lines... the flow was there also... Kept the reader scroll down the lines to the ending...
