A Girl at School

Black as a spade, just a rose in the park
She'd be so pretty if she wasn't so dark
Her tears are soft as I'm sure they're sweet
I'll look away when she's in the street

I asked her to the prom but never showed at her door
Took instead a real girl I adore
Told her the story and we laughed all night,
Egged her house, and made-out in flight

My dad and his friends drove around in his car
Her dad in his skin dragged behind not far
Her arms are crossed and she folds them tight
I wish she'd go away 'cuz she's just not right

Black as a spade, just a rose in the park
She'd be so pretty if she wasn't so dark
Her arms are crossed and she folds them tight
I wish she'd go away 'cuz she's just not right
