inside your pocket

keep me simply
as innocently as you first saw
a piece of drift wood
in the ripples of your dreams

keep me stupidly
as the idiot man drooling lost
abandoned by hope
raped by faith in the dying

keep me simply
as i wake to the beauty
dawning first light flesh
after the hypnotic darkness fades
