Christmas Miracle
to Taylor, Shianne, Devlin, andJolee My wonderful children.
Close your eyes,
go to sleep,
For Santa soon will softly creep.
Sleigh bells will soon be ringing,
reindeer landing on the ceiling.
We will hear quiet footsteps,
walking toward the christmas tree.
Wake up!
Christmas morning.
Open up your presents.
Smile those precious smiles,
show me that you like them.
Be good for an instant.
That's my christmas miracle!

You are a delight!
But reindeer (which you somehow managed to spell correctly!) landing on the CEILING? Now that's Christmas magic! I can see why you said that, rhyme and reason, but it still strikes me as funny ... and if your children don't object, neither do I.
Let's see, how could we fix that and still maintain the song?
If we say "above" in place of "on" we will include one more sillybaubble but the sentence still can be read without destroying the rhythm.
Aren't children a joy? My grandson walks into the room now and then as I write and his smile makes me laugh, even tho' his eyes say "What can I get in to?" ...so your Christmas Joy is with you all year long.
O well, it is fun and a delight. |
